ABSTRACT

Quality or, more specifically, quality systems are important in environments where work is being carried out that is under strict regulation by external bodies such as the medicines and health regulatory authority (MHRA) regulating a pharmaceutical company. This is also true in forensic science laboratories. Although there is not a regulating body per se, it is the court or judicial system that requires the process be regulated. It is not mandatory in forensic science laboratories, but most, if not all, choose to introduce and maintain a quality system.
