ABSTRACT
Crystals can be divided into two main classes: those with a single RI (isotropic) and those with more than one RI (anisotropic) . This was discussed in the previous chapter and now we can extend that knowledge. The anisotropic crystal can be further subdivided; crystals with two refractive indices are called uniaxial; those with three are known as biaxial crystals.
