ABSTRACT
An environmental measurement involves planning, sampling, analysis and finally reporting. Systematic as well as random errors are encountered at each step and the purpose of quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) is to identify, measure, and keep these errors under control. QA/QC measures are necessary during field sampling as well as in laboratory procedures.
