ABSTRACT

In the past 15 years there have been tremendous improvements in the instrumental methods used to identify and analyze biomolecules including nucleic acids, carbohydrates, lipids, and proteins. These methods include, but are not limited to, microarrays in which the wells have a specic molecular afnity that can be used to probe for protein fragments or nucleic acid oligos in solution. Readout of a microarray is generally photonic, making use of uorescent molecular tags.
