ABSTRACT
Mathematica is a large computer software package for performing mathematical computations. It has a huge collection of mathematical functions and commands for producing two and three dimensional graphics. This appendix is only a brief introduction to Mathematica and for more information about this software the reader is referred to The Mathematica Book, Version 4 by S. Wolfram [14]. There is a very convenient help system available through the \Help" menu button at the top of the notebook window. The window \Find Selected Function" gives a brief summary of what each Mathematica function does and provides references to the section of the book where the function is explained.
