ABSTRACT
Engineering geo-mechanics of rock-mass is a science which studies the mechanical behavior of rock-mass. It is the rock-mass engineering geology theory developed in china.
Began in 60s of 20th century, Gu et al. (1979) studied the origin, structure, and engineering behavior under the control of geological structure. They found the rock structure is the basic characteristic of rock-mass, and put forward the scientific theory of Engineering Geo-mechanics and the concept of “rock-mass structure control” as the foundation the theory (Sun, 1988).
