The determination of mixtures of volatile organic compounds in environmental waters presents its own particular problems which are now discussed.
Solid phasemicro extraction followed by capillary gas chromatography-mass spectrometry is a particularly useful technique and has been applied to the simultaneous analysis of 23 priority pollutants, as defined by the FDA, in environmental waters [1].
