ABSTRACT
The fascinating study of lying and deception in the criminal justice system will be discussed in this chapter. Is it ever justifiable to lie? Sissela Bok (1999) pointed out that the basic tenet that lying is wrong seems to be universal to all cultures, probably because humans are social animals.
