ABSTRACT
Traditional measures in discharge planning often include measuring staff productivity ratios, average length of stay (ALOS), payer mix, readmission rates, denial rate, and appeal rates. This data set, although important, is a very limited selection of what is actually required to manage a fully integrated discharge planning department. If information is power, then certainly having the right information to base decisions on is an indicator of future success.
