ABSTRACT

Introduction Developing a roster of CBR audits and reviews may be relatively simple. For a small physician clinic, the main audits may involve proper surgical coding, use of modifiers, selection of E/M levels, diagnosis coding, and administrative concerns such as NPIs filing of CMS-855s. However, for a hopsital the addition of provider-based clinics and skilled nursing services to a modest hospital setting will result in a dramatic increase in the number of audit and review areas.
