ABSTRACT

Biomedical engineers, biophysicists, computer, materials, and photonics scientists, and others who apply engineering, physics, and photonics methods to solving problems involving living systems are aware that they are working with nonlinear, nonstationary systems, most of which are complex. e goal of this chapter is to introduce and examine the dynamic properties of some simple nonlinear systems (NLSs), including biochemical oscillators, and show how they can be analyzed and modeled.
