ABSTRACT

In Chapter 5 we saw how to construct a model to fit our experimental design. Here we will use this model to analyse the data from our experiment.

We want to know whether the variation in spider numbers between plots can be explained by the different treatment combinations applied to them. In other words, we are asking whether any differences between groups are statistically significant. The treatments were: F1 (wildflowers, cut once), F2 (wildflowers, cut twice), NF1 (no flowers, cut once), and NF2 (no flowers, cut twice).
