Spectral Analysis

Spectral Analysis Spectral analysis (or frequency analysis) is the process of representing a time varying signal, such as the output from an acceleration transducer, in the frequency domain. This transformation of a signal from the time domain to the frequency domain has important implications for active noise and vibration control, both in analysis and implementation. In this chapter, the fundamental principles will be reviewed and some functions which will be of use later will be derived.
