ABSTRACT
We now embark on the road to calculate the engineering solutions, the topic of the third, final, part of the book. This chapter will discuss a frequently used solution technique for the analysis of the transient behavior of a mechanical system, the modal solution technique. This is the application of the computational reduction techniques to the forced vibration problem.
