ABSTRACT

Fast knowledge sharing will provide the organization with a wider distribution of knowledge. This wider distribution will facilitate pace in innovation, continuous improvement, and preventing issues from starting in the first place. It is really about becoming a learning organization and must be stated as one of the organization’s values. It cannot be just one of the methods we use; leaders must include it and promote it as part of the organization’s culture. Too many organizations are satisfied with providing sound and secure technology to store the knowledge. What they do not clearly understand is that the people are actually storing the expertise of the organization. This can be a catastrophic assumption, as the sound and secure technology might not fail but the unhappy experts can be enticed by the competition. Creating individual value by developing your people and keeping them challenged is how you keep organization knowledge and further develop expertise.
