INTRODUCTION Single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) and positron emission tomography (PET) imaging are used in the assessment of patients with known or suspected cancers. Nuclear medicine plays a signifi cant role in the management of oncology patients, contributing to both diagnosis and follow-up. In addition to diagnostic imaging, radiopharmaceuticals are also used in the treatment of malignancy.
