Infinitely long particles, where L→∞, do not exist in realistic samples. Nevertheless, the model considered in this chapter is a useful practical approach. A typical length L = L1 must be adapted to the diameter of the region of the right section. Simple expressions of small-angle scattering structure functions are obtained which possess the essential properties of realistic samples. An isotropic uniform random (IUR) chord length analysis of long stretched particles (see [74]) is of interest for a large spectrum of materials, e.g., for controlled porous glasses [78, 92].
