ABSTRACT
The handling and dealing with biological organisms of all types pose specific hazards. Some viruses, bacteria, molds, and fungi pose limited problems when they exist in the workplace while others could be potentially deadly if misused or handled. In this chapter, guidelines will be provided for safe handling of these organisms as well as a discussion regarding bloodborne pathogens, which are regulated by Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
