How to choose cloud services: Toward a cloud computing cost model

There are a wide variety of cloud services, each with unique strengths and limitations. Selecting a proper cloud computing service becomes a challenge for potential cloud consumers. This chapter discusses some general criteria in selecting Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS) cloud services and presents a cloud advisory tool for assisting with selecting a cloud service.
