ABSTRACT
For Œshes, the surrounding chemicals of their environment provide information for feeding, defense, migration, and reproduction. Fishes have evolved strategies for sensing various compounds, and for conveying this information to speciŒc brain regions for generating an appropriate response. The chemical structure of these molecules is diverse, and the responses range from attraction to avoidance, as well as various context-dependent responses.
