ABSTRACT

The reader needs to understand, even at a somewhat basic level, the methods by which the People’s Republic of China (PRC) attempts to acquire US technology. The types of technology and information that the PRC and individual PRC nationals are attempting to acquire through espionage, however, are far broader. The PRC seemingly appears to try to acquire information and technology on just about anything of value. Not all of it, by any means, presents national security or law enforcement concerns, but these other areas of their endeavors are directly related to America’s economic status. Economically, the collection effort must be considered extensive and very staggering in the amount of data they desire to obtain by any means.
