ABSTRACT
Corticosteroid activity can be altered through structure modification. Of the synthetic corticosteroids, prednisone and prednisolone possess primary glucocorticoid activity, while 9-fluorocortisol exhibits both gluco-and mineralocorticoid activity. Synthetic corticosteroids are highly effective because they exhibit specificity, and long biologic half-lives.
