ABSTRACT

The surface tension of a liquid is responsible for everyday phenomena such as the formation of spherical drops of rainwater and the blowing of soap bubbles. It is responsible for the adhesion of liquids onto other surfaces and also for the contraction of liquids on surfaces in forming spherical drops.
