ABSTRACT
In Chapter 7, the structure of the PI3K-AKT-TOR pathway (illustrated in Figure 7.1.) was explained in detail. Given the complexity of biochemical reactions and information processing in the network, mathematical modeling is needed to capture the essentials of the pathway and to reveal its control mechanisms, which may ultimately lead to the understanding of the normal functioning of the pathway and how its malfunction can lead to various pathologic states.
