ABSTRACT

Hydraulic fracturing, as with other drilling, completion, and reservoir behavior problems, is complicated by the fact that processes cannot be directly observed. For describing reservoir behavior, this dežciency has been overcome by the development over the past 50 years of analyses based on wellbore pressure and µow rate. Similar analyses for hydraulic fracturing are described here. First, however, “application” (Appendix A) describes some recommended procedures/practices for collecting/analyzing these data along with some analysis examples. Details of the analysis procedures are then discussed in the following.
