ABSTRACT

In this chapter we consider statistical models for data collected from follow-up (cohort or intervention) studies that involve censoring or when, even in the absence of censoring, the time to an event is regarded as the outcome variable of interest. Following from the basic ideas introduced in Chapter 5, models for survival data occupy Section 11.2 to Section 11.9 and models for person-years data are found in Section 11.10. The final section, Section 11.11, describes a variant on the logistic regression model introduced in Chapter 10.
