ABSTRACT
At the beginning of this book I talked a little about the evolving role of the HCA and
what the future might hold in terms of regulation. Part of this process must be about
compulsory training to a recognized standard so that everyone will understand what
the term healthcare assistant means and what that person has achieved in terms of
training and competence.
