ABSTRACT

The subject of consideration in this chapter is the study of the properties of the observation outcomes noted during the realisation of a statistical investigation. It is presumed that the recorded data has the form of a sequence of numbers. In order to translate this into statistical language-a sample is taken and it is necessary to make a primary analysis; this is the primary because a further part of the analysis depends on the information obtained from it. This information can be of different natures and this will determine the direction of the later investigations into different areas of the statistical consideration.
