Aspiration is the most universal and common dedusting method used for handling loose materials at ore pretreatment plants. It ensures containment of released dust by using aspirated cowls with subsequent separation of dust from air evacuated by suction. This method remains the only dedusting option for sintering processes and for pelletization of iron-ore concentrates when the alternative method of wet dedusting becomes impossible due to high airborne dust content and thermal breakdown of hot sinter and red pellets by water.
