ABSTRACT

Osteopenia is the thinning of bone mass. It is considered a risk factor for the development of osteoporosis. It is commonly seen in people over the age of 50 who have lower than average bone density but do not have osteoporosis. Osteopenia is due to dežciencies of calcium, vitamin D, magnesium, and other vitamins and minerals. The difference between osteopenia and osteoporosis is the measure of bone density.
