ABSTRACT
A variety of skin care products exist in today’s marketplace. They fulll a variety of functions by either acting directly on the skin (e.g., moisturizers) or being a cosmetically elegant vehicle for the delivery of specic active ingredients (e.g., sunscreens or antipyretic or antiacne medicaments). In general, these products are categorized in the United States into three functional groups:
• Drugs: to prevent or ameliorate diseases by altering the structure and/or function of the body.
