ABSTRACT

In general, the barrier has to dissipate the energy generated during the impact and at the same time, it must react correctly to the different entities of impact forces because vehicles that may come into collision may have also very different masses. More specifically, in the event of shocks of strong entity (ie in the case of vehicles that are characterized by a considerable mass, or by high speed), the barrier must deform in relation to the space available behind it, and it has to lift the band so to avoid the overturning of the vehicle and so to maintain the containment capacity.
