ABSTRACT

The study was performed in an area from the center-north region of Argentina in the Santiago del Estero province (SDE, Capital, Banda and Copo departments), and in the Almirante Brown department of the Chaco province. The population was constituted mainly by rural and dispersed inhabitants (54%) and the remaining is settled in urbanized centers. Population were interviewed following a standard questionnaire aimed at collecting information about customs, dietary habits and demographic data such as age, sex, years of residence and drinking water patterns.
