ABSTRACT

Now that the Kaizen Team members have identified the root causes for the waste that they discovered in the target process, it’s time for them to begin designing the future state. But without a structured approach, teams often fall short of their innovative capabilities, or they focus their attention on lower priority improvements instead of the most critical process needs. Structure also helps teams pass through the “storming” and “norming” team development stages, and move into the “performing” phase, during which the team generates the desired results.
