ABSTRACT
With few exceptions, all proposals considered compelling by a doctoral committee or fundable by granting agencies must include hypotheses. As shown in the accompanying Figure 3.1, these hypotheses should be nested within specific aims. In a grant application, this is one of the first sections of your proposal to be read by reviewers. The maxim that first impressions matter is particularly true in this case.
