ABSTRACT
Electric motors are devices that convert electric energy into magnetic energy and Žnally into mechanical energy. Electromagnetism is the basis of electric motor operation by generatingmagnetic forces necessary to produce either rotational or linear motion. For rotatingelectric motors, it is the interaction between the stator and rotor magnetic Želds that creates motor torque to drive external loads.
