Theacousticresponseoftheroomisdescribedbyitsimpulseresponseof roomsthatcanbebothmodeledandmeasured.Modelingiscommoninthe designoflargerooms.Theroomimpulseresponsecanbeapproximately measured using quasi-omnidirectional sources and receivers. Although modelingusuallystartswithomnidirectionalsourcesandreceivers,directivity can be included as well.
