Clausewitz talks in greater detail about the engagement: The actual engagement is the central act of conflict. All other activities
merely support it. Its nature consequently needs close examination. Engagements mean struggle. The object of struggle is to neutralize* or
defeat the opponent in the individual engagement. This is the simple concept, and we shall return to it. But first we must introduce a number of other considerations.
