ABSTRACT

The purpose of this final chapter is to place the fundamental knowledge presented previously into a clinical context. To that end this chapter introduces some key aspects of clinical immunology and presents 17 simple clinical case studies, each of which provides an example of an aspect of immunology as it relates to veterinary practice. The information given on each case cannot be exhaustive, instead the major clinical and laboratory diagnostic features are presented together with a discussion of the fundamental immunological mechanism and, where appropriate, the therapy employed.
