ABSTRACT
In general , antibiotics cell wall structuring are innocuous to wall defective bacteria. Correspondingly, antibiotics which interrupt protein synthesis are inhibitive thc variant if the parent is sensitlve. exceptions are numerous. Antibiotics considered metabol i c inhibitors, which are exquisitely toxic to the parent bacterium, may, for reasons , be tolerated by the variant. This is often true of the tetracyclines.4•6 .26
