ABSTRACT

Rise above nascent professional mediocrity-with font theory! You need to know now-right up front-that getting the fonts right makes your map look like serious business. It’s easy to get so caught up in the symbolization of data that the labeling of that data gets relegated to “that which you do at the end of the project when there isn’t much time left,” which is a travesty because being satisfied with placing text on the map and layout in its default form or, at most, choosing between Times New Roman and Arial, is the best way to a mediocre map.
