The Idea of Social Responsibility of a University

Universities are important elements of the public space. They are the source of the intellectual elite; they determine the level of society’s education. Their inuence and the potential they accrue make them play a special role. That role goes beyond what is traditionally understood as universities’ tasks: education and research. According to ever-increasing social needs, universities should be involved in many more actions, all of them being socially responsible.
