ABSTRACT

In a general sense, education is the process of transferring knowledge, skills, values, and experiences from one generation to another. This process is realized by the educational system consisting of the object (recipient of knowledge), subject (provider of knowledge), and materialized contents of education (educational programs and materials) as well as the educational environment (needs, requirements, regulations, technical support, etc.). Key objectives of an educational system are (i) to transfer or share knowledge, (ii) to train skills on how to use knowledge, and (iii) to train skills on how to get knowledge needed. Eventually, an educational system has an apparent impact on the mind, character, and physical capability on individual and social levels, making people prepared to function in different areas of human activity. Due to this, an education is a powerful factor of indirect transformation of the society and the environment. However, individuals, social groups, and society as a whole, meeting individual and common needs in the process of social activity, generate positive outputs and outcomes as well as cause multiple insignicant and essential negative changes, which may become later problems. With the lapse of time, a critical mass of such changes are transforming into challenges, which threaten the development of society and even human civilization.
