ABSTRACT

The turn of the 20th and 21st centuries is a time of various changes. These changes are also observable at universities and in educational approach. The reasons for this are numerous. The most important of these are the growing number of students; introduction of increasingly sophisticated information technology; transformation of a society into a knowledgeable society; and nally, changing requirements of employees, who are currently required to be creative, exible, and innovative. Consequently, such a change forces a modication in teaching methods and, as a result, shapes educational space. In the United Kingdom, the previously declared reasons have become the grounds for developing fresh ideas regarding the arrangement of academic ofce space.
