ABSTRACT

This chapter explains the process we set up to execute effective training that enhances global learning and effective standard work. Furthermore, we elaborate on how we work with different learning methodologies depending on whether the training required is based on skills proficiency or knowledge acquisition. The process is started in collaboration with area leaders in terms of setting the scope of training and development activities by preparing a competency overview and a skills matrix so we know which processes and skills to use. These tools provide a common picture of what training is needed in the area and, in addition, are also used for evaluation of the workforce after the training and practice periods are completed.
