ABSTRACT

Mr. Eric Winter visited Solarex in November 1974, and offered to represent Solarex in the German-speaking part of Europe. Joseph and I had a meeting with him in our “conference room.” Seemingly he wanted to impress us, because on a sheet of paper he outlined his empire. He owned about eight companies located in the various parts of Germany. But the ownerships of his companies were incredibly complicated. For example, Company A owned a piece of Company B and also C and E. Company B owned a piece of A, C, D, and F. Company C owned a piece in A, B, D, and G, and so on. At the end, the sheet of paper looked like the design of a spider’s web in which the various companies appeared like captured flies. He assured us that he was the competent person to be able to sell our products.
