ABSTRACT
Vestibular receptors are contained in the inner ear within the semicircular canals and the vestibule. These receptors convey vestibular inputs through the dendrites of the bipolar neurons of Scarpa’s ganglia to the cerebellum and brainstem. Massive projections from the brainstem to subcortical and spinal neurons allow the generated impulses to exert influences on vast areas of the nervous system.
