ABSTRACT
Introduction This text was developed by three individuals who have studied the policing, nature of crime, and crime causation for many years. We are not going to tell you that we can predict what the crime situation will be 10 or 20 years from now. Instead, in this chapter, we discuss some of the trends that are likely to continue to inuence crime patterns, trends, causes, and the labeling of some behaviors as “criminal,” into the foreseeable future.
