ABSTRACT
Why do organizations run projects? Given the challenges dis-cussed in Chapter 1, it seems it would simplify our lives greatly if we could just avoid the whole mess and keep existing operations running the way they are now. Less cost, less aggravation, fewer late nights. No disruption in our current environment, so we can focus on serving existing customers.
