ABSTRACT

The science of complexity takes into account both the chaotic behavior and the well-dened characteristics of the system. There is also the concept of a complex adaptive system (CAS) that emphasizes adaptation and thus evolution to the system with changed behavior. A CAS is a nonlinear, complex, and highly interactive system. However, before knowing the details of analyzing and controlling such complex systems, we must know the advantages and disadvantages of simple systems so as to understand the importance and reality of complex systems. Thus, Section 14.2 discusses the advantages and disadvantages of simple systems.
